What inspires you?
I get inspired by textures and shapes. I also recieve a bunch of ideas and inspiration from my dreams (prone to crazy nightmares!) and of course, all fashion trends!
What are you passionate about?
Education. My partner-in-crime Janae Johnson, artistic director for Lunatic Fringe, and I have started offering advanced education courses in hairpiece making and bridal styling/business that have been of great success and look forward to expanding the curriculum.
What is your favorite Sebastian Professional product(s)?
Shaper Zero Gravity spray! Great for doing multiple looks on one model because of it's brushable, lightweight hold. Doesn't leave the hair feeling dry and product filled. Define fearless…Creating whatever you want without using the fear of outside judgement to offset your vision.
What are your goals as a stylist?
To continue to produce works of art, with an emphasis in education on the creative process and technical breakdown of all work produced. It bums me out that education, mostly in the art of hair pieces, wigs, and avant garde work, that stylists tend to withhold their process (secrets!) that hinder our industry's ability to artistically grow at a quicker pace. Education is key!
Describe your personal style or what you’re known for.
I still feel like I'm in the beginning stages of developing and/or finding my personal style. Janae and I are contantly working with the Lunatic Fringe Artistic Team to expand our own repertoire in different styles of hair whether it be classic dressing, precision work, avant garde technique, etc. Maybe in 5 years I'll begin to have a general idea of my style? Style aside, when creating new photo collections, I strive to have the end product have the feeling of 'that's beautiful' as opposed to 'that's cool' whether it's avant garde work or classic.
